Q-STAIN X (QSXTM)-Enh CK20 Ab (Clone R1001) is intended for laboratory use to qualitatively identify by light microscopy the presence of CK20 in sections of formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) and/or cryostat tissues using immunohistochemistry (IHC) test methods. The clinical interpretation of any staining or its absence should be complemented by morphological studies using proper controls and should be evaluated within the context of the patient’s clinical history and other diagnostic tests and proper controls interpreted by a qualified pathologist and/or physician. This reagent has been formulated to ready-to-use concentration and optimized for IHC use without further dilution.
Summary and Explanation:
QSX-Enh CK20 is a ready-to-use rabbit monoclonal antibody (clone R1001). CK20 is a 46 kDa simple-epithelial keratin marker with the most restricted expression, which is helpful in the differential diagnosis of several cancers. CK20 remarkably expresses in gastric and intestine epithelium, also in urothelium and Merkel cells. CK20 is often used together with CK7 as a differential diagnostic biomarker panel. The panel of CK7 and CK20 may also be used in carcinomas of colon, primary mucinous tumors of lower GI tract and primary bladder adenocarcinomas, and in carcinomas of adrenal cortex and prostate.
