Q-STAIN X (QSXTM)-Enh Anti-Human CK5 antibody is intended for laboratory use to qualitatively identify by light microscopy the presence of CK5 in sections of formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded tissue sections or frozen tissues using immunohistochemistry (IHC) test methods. The clinical interpretation of any staining or its absence should be complemented by morphological studies using proper controls and should be evaluated within the context of the patient’s clinical history and other diagnostic tests by a qualified pathologist/physician. This reagent has been formulated to ready-to-use concentration and optimized for IHC use without further dilution.
Summary and Explanation:
QSX-Enh CK5 is a ready-to-use rabbit monoclonal antibody reagent (R226). This antibody recognizes human cytokeratin 5, an intermediate filament protein of 58 kD molecular weight within the cytokeratin family. CK5 is expressed in squamous cell epithelium, myoepithelial cells of the breast, mesothelium and the basal cells of the prostate. See Q-STAIN X User’s Guide to learn more about test protocols.
